We're 2182kHz. We make activist art for the modern world.

In 2025, we felt we needed to do something. Trump and company were back, and people — rightly — started to panic. We wanted to find likeminded people that knew how bad things are. We wanted to use art and design as a means to give hope to people that they weren't alone. We wanted to send a distress call.

So we created 2182kHz (which is the transmission frequency for distress calls) and began to make the Signals: artwork that could help identify people looking for strategies and safe places to help us in these dark times.

Classic maritime distress signals consist of a black square and circle on a field of orange. Sailors across the world see that and know: immediate assistance required.

We've made dozens of Signals that reflect our wide-ranging love of visual styles. Hopefully, you'll find a Signal that speaks to you. Grab a set of prints and spread them between your friends and family. Send the signal that your space is a safe space, that you’re dedicated to opposing hate and fear.
